The Reformer is a rectangular frame with four legs and a cushioned mat, or carriage, that slides back and forth on wheels with the resistance of springs and pulleys. The reformer helps to insure perfect form so that you get the most benefit possible from your Pilates exercises. It also allows you to isolate and concentrate on specific areas of your body. If you're a beginner, the Reformer's resistance can be calibrated to your individual needs. As you progress, the Reformer can be adjusted to challenge you individually. Because the Reformer is elevated, it eliminates the problem some people have getting up and down on the floor.
